Zuerst hatten wir Stromausfall und dachten der Vermieter kündigt uns. Aber letztendlich waren Laura und Stäff aus Bamberg doch eine Woche im Januar bei uns. Sie haben im Loft und im KIGT geprobt. Leider sind ja gerade wieder gar keine Vorstellungen möglich, sodass wir ihre Arbeit in diesem kurzen Video dokumentiert haben. Es war so besonders die beiden zu Gast zu haben und auch sehr lehrreich. Es wird eine neue Stromleitung gelegt, damit wir auch im Winter den Raum voll beheizen können. Danke an die ersten zwei Künstler in residence für ihre Experimentierfreudigkeit und Herzlichkeit, danke an Frau Biallowons-Quest vom Kieler Institut für Gymnastik und Tanz für ihr Interesse und jahrelange Unterstützung. Switch Switch is an interdisciplinary duet, where the performers Xavier Geerman (composer) and Sarah Prescimone (choreographer) stretch the borders of music and dance practice. Engaging within the other foreign discipline. Mirroring each others specialization and comfortable space, diving into the uncomfortable. A constant switching of their artistic identity is manifested. A performative dialogue is shaped throighout the different perspectifes of a dancer and a musician, while swapping positions. With switch er are exploring and rediscovering new paths of movement and sound, experimenting with the idea of lost potentials, searching for different channels of expression in order to tune from within and transform this fragility. Shifting into this grey area we encounter a lost part of ourselves. Redirecting our position in this artistic field - protecting it like a seal. Molding in other forms shape shifting and soul switching. Sarah's guitar: ''What would have happened if you had played with me when you were younger? - for years I was only collecting dust - waiting in a corner. Finally we can play together!'' Xavier's Body: 33 years have passed and only now I discover this muscle in my lower back - wich hurts. A lot of tension is now released. The storage is being freed. I should have bought the dancing shoes... kept the break dancing instead of only taking breaks.''

English version Introduction Shibari (japanisch: to tie, to weave) is the ‘art of tying‘, which relates on the artistically tied object, meant the destination. In Japan it is more common to speak of Kinbaku, which means ‘the way of tying’ and what relates to the process, meant the route. ‘In the land of Shinto tying with rope (nawa) is a holy act. To tie is a basic part of Japanese culture. Everything holy, in which the Japanese recognize ‘kami’ (goodness, holyness), they tie or wrap round with ‘nawa’. What lies behind the rope is holy und so tying connects the holy with the human.’ (Miyabi Kyodo) In Europe the art of tying is mostly known as ‘bondage’ and being known as part of the bdsm scene. We like to show Shibari or bondage can be more than just erotic fantasy. Furthermore rope art has an essential aestetic aspect, which can be combined with other forms of presentation and movement. About us We are Flira and Bavragor – a rope performance team from Kiel. Bavragor is tying since 2004 and has changed and developed his style over and over again. He is organizing the Tüdeltreff Kiel since 2015. Flira is trained dance and gymnastic teacher as well as medical fitness trainer. To the world of tying she is quite new, but already gained some show experiences. Since 2019 both are working together and combine dance and rope art to create dynamic performances and bonding show for the audience, where rigger and model are equally present.

Eine Schwangerschaft ist ein Wunder. Magische und so natürliche Prozesse finden in meinem Körper statt. Alles verändert sich. Anfangs unsichtbar und doch absolut nicht unbemerkt. Der Wunsch, die Einnistung, der erste Herzschlag, unsere Reise beginnt. Ich liebe dich, jetzt bist du hier, ich halt dich fest und lass dich los. In meinem Solo befasse ich mit mir und meinem Kind. Ich versuche die Entwicklungen in der Gebärmutter auf tänzerische Art und Weise zu erfassen. Weiter setze ich mich mit dem Thema Geburt und Loslassen auseinander. Und tanze den sanften Weg des Kindes auf die Erde.

DON'T TOUCH MY HEART is a performance/installation that has a central point of research of the heart. The heart as a movement, as sound/beat, as motor, as emotional reference, as the constant rhythm. The live motor of the performance is the actual development of the heartbeat of the performers, with a live evolution of it, possible because of a stethoscope-microphone attached to the breast. It creates a relationship between each other beats, making the heart move the body, embodying the organ itself. It is a manifestation of the pure and raw beat of the heart, celebrating life developing through different states of the mind and of the body. We worked on listening to our beat and trying to connect and disconnect from the brain. We focused on the emotions and feelings that are directly connected with our pulse: calmness, anxiety, excitement/pain, emptiness. The performers became the heartbeat and the actual body that feels, we recreated an inside out reality, diving into the slimy and shining of the alive flesh and the darkness of the inside of the body. Working with voice and sound that can reconnect to gut and high pitch tones.
